Atlantis Falls to Apprentice 68–57 in NSAC Semifinal; Landon Earns All-Tournament Honors
Atlantis University ended its NSAC National Championship run in Newport, Virginia, with a 68–57 semifinal loss to Apprentice on February 21 at the Apprentice Athletic Center. The Atlanteans finished the season 16–10, falling one game short of the final.

Atlantis started efficiently, shooting 50.0 percent in the first half and trailing 29–28 at halftime. The team scored 40 points in the paint and added 11 second-chance points. However, second-half shooting dropped to 29.0 percent, limiting offense as Apprentice outscored Atlantis 37–28 in the final 20 minutes.
Santiago Insaurralde contributed 16 points off the bench on 7-of-10 shooting in 20 minutes. Nikko Landon led Atlantis with 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting and six rebounds in 33 minutes. His consistent play throughout the tournament earned him First Team All-Tournament honors. Elijah Gayle added 10 points, Ornie Brooks had nine points and three assists, and Folayemi Salako posted nine rebounds and seven points. Atlantis shot 39.0 percent from the field (23-of-59) and 16.7 percent from three-point range (3-of-18). The team converted 8 of 9 free throws (88.9 percent) and received 26 bench points, demonstrating depth in the rotation.
Apprentice held a 43–32 rebounding advantage, including 16 offensive rebounds that led to 14 second-chance points. Atlantis committed 14 turnovers, with both teams scoring 10 points off turnovers. Head Coach Frankie Hernandez noted that the semifinal result has broader implications. The loss may impact Atlantis University's chances of earning a spot in the USCAA Basketball National Championship, as postseason selection often depends on late-season results against ranked opponents. Despite the semifinal loss, Atlantis remained competitive on a neutral court and earned individual recognition with Landon's all-tournament selection. This appearance marked a significant postseason opportunity for the Atlanteans, who concluded their NSAC campaign in Newport.
