Bio
José Rosario, originally from the Dominican Republic, brings a strong background of playing experience and leadership to the Atlantis University men's basketball program.
Rosario began his basketball journey at one of the nation's top preparatory programs, Scotland Prep (PA), where he developed a solid academic and athletic foundation. He later committed to Garrett College (MD), where, as a freshman, he experienced an extraordinary season during the pandemic year. His team captured multiple titles, including the Region XX Tournament Championship, District Championship, and NJCAA Division II East District Championship, ultimately finishing 4th in the NJCAA DII Men's National Championship Tournament with an impressive 17–2 record in 2021.
After Garrett, Rosario transferred to Westmoreland County Community College (PA), where he brought leadership and experience to the program. He was selected as a member of the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team and stood out as one of the top players in the region, averaging 14.4 points per game and earning NJCAA All-Region 20 Division II & III honors. Rosario earned his Associate Degree in Business Administration, graduating with a 3.5 GPA.
During his junior and senior years, Rosario transferred to Atlantis University, where he continued to excel both on and off the court. He received multiple recognitions, including NSCA Player of the Week, and set a conference record with 44 points in a single game. He was also named to the USCAA Division I National All-Academic Team with a 4.0 GPA and earned a spot on the All-Conference Third Team. Rosario is set to graduate in Fall 2025 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
In 2025, Rosario was selected by the New South Athletic Conference (NSAC) to represent the conference at the SULA International Tournament in Brazil, where his team finished undefeated with a 6–0 record, capturing the championship title.
Today, Rosario brings the same dedication, competitiveness, and passion for the game that defined his playing career into his role as Student Manager. His focus is on helping student-athletes develop their basketball skills and personal discipline to achieve success at the next level.
